Sierra is my runner. Her original owner was tired of her escaping so she was going to put her down. Apparently she didn't do her research before getting a Pyrenees. I intended to foster until I could find her a home.... She quickly settled in and decided to stay with us. And, we are very happy she did!
A ranch offers unending space to run and a bounty of smells to explore but a Pyr needs a secure border. Besides securing a coop for the girls the "yard" needed to be fenced for pup security. Needing it sooner than we could get it done we hired somebody to do it for us. Fast is not a pace out here. Of course, it didn't help that while having the fence installed we decided they could do some repairs to the fence around the front pasture and replace some gates so if the dogs want to run with the horses we will eventually get... You get the idea.
Sierra has spent 18 days at the end of a 15 ft leash when outside. That has not been easy for her but she's been so very good about it. Good thing she didn't have to wait on us to put up a fence! They finished today and I decided to wait until after their dinner to set her free. Here are some videos of her playing with Merlin (unleashed and not pulling my arm off), getting a burst of energy, and wandering home. Later she really let loose but, as usual, I didn't have my phone with me to catch it. Enjoy her enjoyment :)

Love the videos! It looks so beautiful (and peaceful) out there! Miss you! XoXo ~Brandi
ReplyDeleteThanks! She loves it here and she loves to explore. I've found she comes home though. We've had a couple of times when Merlin was with her. The first they came back. The second they went a really long way before I finally got a call. I think/hope/pray we've secured the spot now. If not, I hope it's a long time before we find out.
DeleteThank you! It is very peaceful and although we're missing everybody (especially those at the vet) we just love it here!
